So I was thinking hard about our generation of games and started wondering: what would be different about retro games, if they were released today?
Chaos Invaders is exactly that; Space Invaders for the 21st century. I’ve taken the core mechanics of Space Invaders and twisted them into a chaotic experience filled with visual effects, different enemy types, Boss fights and more.

this is like Space Invaders on some weird stimulants… love it 🙂 Only problem is, as I am old enough to have played the original space invaders back in its day, this is a little too hectic for me 😉

the best thing about this game is the soundtrack. the level-infos seem to pause the game at the wrong time and force me to wait. the unskippable intro is not so good. it takes too long to get to the music 😉 the music feels so alife that I really do not care about what’s written on the screen. game is a nice but you should offer your soundtrack seperately. this tune is kickass and really feels like a timelimit!

Nice. Elements of the precursor, Breakout/Arkanoid, and even a touch of AstroPop.
My aging reflexes weren’t exactly the best in the days of the original game, so my progress was likely comparatively brief, but it was enough to give me a feel for the game, and to enjoy the experience.
(I may well come back this now and again, regardless of the chance of success – the fun of games isn’t solely winning, after all…)
